Assignment #1: Getting Started

Sorry to have taken so long to get started on the blog. I've been doing a lot of play time with the kids!! Hopefully, you've had a chance to look at the software.

To get started, Cinema 4D has some introduction videos built into the help menu on the program.
To access them, click help. Then, expand the triangle by the Maxon Manual, click on "Getting to Know Cinema 4d. Then watch the videos.  Each of you should respond to the questions with you name on it below.  Make sure to read each others responses, but don't wait for people to respond. I will be posting new assignments now, so you want to work at your pace.  If you don't know the answer, then post a question instead.  Help each other out if they need it.

Please answer the question with you name on next to it.

1.Kelly -What does the Objectives Manager do? Describe the features of the window and how they relate to the objects in your view port.
2. Sara- What does the Attributes manager to? How does the Attributes window change when you select different things in the view port or the tools?
3. Matt-What is the Materials Manager? How do you make a new material?
4. Sean-At the top on the window there are warm colored tools and cool colored tools.  What is the difference?
5. Belinda-What is the Coordinates Manager do?

  1. The Objects Manager is the main tool for scene management. It holds all the objects created in the view port. You can change the hierarchy of objects and modifiers to change the scene structure (change how the objects look in the view port).

  2. Tools and functions are displayed in warm colors, and the objects are displayed in cool colors.

  3. Attribute manager gives you quick access to almost every parameter in cinema 4d, including the parameters of objects, tools, tags, materials, etc. You can also animate directly in attribute manger without even opending the timeline. The Attribute manager will display the parameters of currently selected elements.

  4. The Coordinate manager allows one to numerically manipulate (precisely place, modify, rotate, etc) objects; For example, moving the center of your object to the coordinates (x=100, y=-100, z=400).
